DGX OS Server version 2.1.1 and 3.1.2 are now available.

DGX OS Server has been upgraded with the GPU driver version 384.81. This driver is required for the DGX Optimized Frameworks releases 17.09 or later. Using an earlier DGX OS will result in a version mismatch error.

Additionally, the 384.81 driver mitigates multiple vulnerabilities in the kernel mode layer of the driver. Refer to the Security Bulletin for vulnerability details.

DGX OS Server v2.1.1 is provided as an online upgrade from versions 1.x and 2.x for Pascal-based DGX-1 systems. The update script installs the new driver and also updates all installed packages with the latest versions available for Ubuntu 14.04 at the time the script is executed. These include security updates and corrections for other high-impact bugs, with focus on maintaining stability and compatibility with earlier releases.

DGX OS Server v3.1.2 is a major release update for Pascal and Volta-based DGX-1 systems. The base distribution has been upgraded from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS to 16.04 LTS. It is initially provided only as an ISO image. Upgrade options to DGX OS Server version 3.1.2 from 1.x, 2.x, or 3.1.1 will be provided by October 2, 2017.

To use version 3.1.2 prior to October 2, 2017, you will need to re-image the DGX-1 with the released ISO image. This process destroys all data and software customizations that were made on the DGX-1. Be sure to backup any data that you need to preserve, and push any Docker images that you want to keep to a trusted registry. Please refer to the DGX-1 User Guide for reimaging instructions.
